General Meetings:

Locations and time for all other meetings will be announced on this website and on facebook.

January 17th - Katie’s in Pueblo West 1pm

2025 Meetings:

January 19th - at (NEW PRESIDENT) Brenda’s house, Canon City at 2pm. This will be a fun afternoon of socializing and planning our club plans for the next year! Please attend if you can!

February 9th - at Katie’s house in Pueblo West at 12pm! SuperBowl Snacks will be provided and welcome!!

March 8th - at Katie’s in Pueblo West at 12pm. St Patty’s day drinks and potato bar will be provided! Bring your own or more to share if you want!! BEV HARRISON SADDLE FIT EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE

April 8th - at Brenda’s in Canon City at 6pm.

May 13th - at Coyote’s Coffee in Penrose at 6pm.

June 10th - at Cat’s in Canon City at 6pm

July 8th - at Marianne’s in Canon City- 530p

August 12th - at Coyote’s in Penrose at 530p

September 9th - at the Equine Lameness Prevention Organization

October 14th - It is being held at a different location for the educational portion of the meeting.  Diana Carver will be opening her studio to us at the Emergent Campus in Florence. The address is 215 Maple Avenue in Florence (this is the old Florence High School).  We will meet at the front door at 530 pm.  Don't be late as Diana has to walk us up. 

November 13th - AT SANDY'S HOUSE, Canon City. 5PM

Show Committee Meetings:

2025 Show Committee Meetings have resumed!

January 27th at Sandy’s house, Canon City, at 1pm. We will be sorting out the show season/schedule. Strong support for 3 virtual shows and high probability of a Riverwalk Schooling Show at Pathfinder! Please reach out or attend if you’d like to share your input!

March 1st at Sandy’s in Canon City at 2pm.

April 21st at Sandy’s in Canon City at 2pm. Plans to discuss the completed March V show, the upcoming May V show and potential for future schooling shows.

Meeting : 6:17, At Sandy Vernon’s residence. Meal was provided by Sandy Vernon

Vernon, via goggle meet, Sarah Murphy, Katie Knight.
October Minutes read by Sandy Vernon, one revision, Debi Stevens is education chair. The
minuets were approved.
Treasurer Report: Primary Checking $4146.00, Savings $1860.00, Pay Pal $50.00

A quorum was met and the members approved the slate of officers.

Reports from committee chairs:
Events: Sandy gave an update on the V shows. The Christmas party is planned to be at
Hardings on Main, Sunday, Dec 7th. Members meals will be paid for, guests are $30.00 a
plate. Open Bar, self pay.
Education: Debi Stevens reported that the Julie Burke clinic was canceled. A Jack Pot event
was happening at Juan Gonzales’s (not AVDA sponsored) A proposed clinic with Holly Bergay
in January and a proposed clinic with Jennifer Glass in February. A Micro chip clinic was also
suggested.

OLD Business : Betty Fey has presented an event to the Broadmoore Carriage house for
Members of AVDA. She is checking into the schedule and will reach out to use for a
collaborate date.
New Business:
Katie Knight is sponsoring a Bling event proposed date is December 6, 2025. Time?
Scheduling 2026 Meetings: Would propose the Board of Directors meet ahead of time for the
logistics of the club, The BOD will publish ahead of time and all interested members may
attend. Minutes of the BOD will be sent ahead of time, wait for approval. Send out minutes
Next meeting for correction amendments if needed.
New events were discussed such as Working Equitation.
Live dressage shows were discussed with the idea to use Juan Gonzales’s arena for our
shows. The members or club would financially contribute to the new sand in the arena.
A micro chip clinic was discussed.
