AVDA RIVERWALK VIRTUAL SHOW SERIES

March, May, & July (entries will open on the 1st of the month, videos must be submitted by last day of the month)

AVDA will be hosting three virtual shows in 2025.

JUDGES:  All judges will be USEF/USDF licensed judges with a qualification of L judge or higher

Entry applications are to be emailed to avdadressage2019@gmail.com and payment via PayPal. Hard copies of your entry and payment may be sent to Sandy.

Virtual Show High Point Awards will be handmade quilted wall hangings, measuring 49" x 49".

Scores from the V Shows WILL be eligible for AVDA year end awards.

The Process:

  1. Film your ride.

  2. Upload video to YouTube.

  3. Send your YouTube video to Sarah

  4. The video will be sent to the judge.

  5. Once scored, the judge will send the score sheet to Sarah.

  6. Score sheet will be sent to the rider. 

  7. Sarah will tally class placements, high point riders and a record of participants. 

  8. Ribbons will be distributed at club meetings or can be mailed.

Instructions for setting up your own YouTube channel, filming and submitting your test to the judge are as follows:

-Download You Tube app to your phone or the device you are using to record your video.

 -Go to You Tube and make sure you are signed in.    If you are signed in you will see either your initial inside of a circle, or it may say "you".

 -Click on the plus symbol that's inside of a circle on the bottom of your screen.  

- Click on “video” 

 -Allow access to your photos/videos

-Select the video you want to upload

 -Press next, add any details you want.  If you are asked if it is made for kids say yes.

 -Press Upload..    To see your progress you can click on your "you" button.   Scroll until you see videos, it will have a spiraling circle indicating your download.  

 *Once download is completed, play it back to confirm correct upload and that it follows filming guidelines-then click the “SHARE” button located below the video, then click on share.  Look for the option that says "copy link".    You now can paste the link of your video in and email it. ideos will be forwarded to our judge.

Awards ENTRIES:

All classes are not qualifiers for RMDS Championships, however, any volunteer hours may be used. (Riders or their representative must have a minimum of 4 recorded volunteer hours in the current competition year to be eligible for year-end awards) Inquire about volunteer opportunities!

FEES: Members -$30 for each class, non- members $35.   No Office Fee. No USEF drug fee, bridle tag deposit or change fee. Show committee reserves the right to refuse any entry.

**Entry form and payment must be made before video is sent to the judge.

AWARDS: Ribbons to sixth place in each class at each show. AVDA will be using strip ribbons for the 3 shows. The high point awards will be rosette ribbons.

HIGH POINT: AVDA is awarding an adult and a junior/young rider high point award at the end of the year. To be eligible, a rider must compete at the same level, in two of the three shows, submit three scores, one score must be from the highest test of that level. All 3 scores will be averaged to determine the highpoint winner. Submitted scores must be from two different judges.  The high point awards will be a large rosette ribbon and a gift (TBD). *** 3 scores, 2 shows, 2 judges (same rules as standard end of year awards)

WAITLIST: A waitlist will be maintained after competition is filled and will be maintained until the final close. 

REQUIRED FOR RIDERS: Anyone on horseback must wear protective headgear with harness secured. WDAA rules apply for western dressage riders. Please consult USEF rules for detailed information regarding show rules and conduct. AVDA shows (virtual and in person) will follow USEF/USDF unless deemed otherwise. Contact one of the AVDA show secretaries for questions. 

ARENA: Outdoor or indoor 20 x 60-meter arena with footing.  A 20 x 40 meter arena will be allowed for Intro and Training Level classes.  Arena must be reasonably flat, free of debris, including horse manure. A dressage court is not required; substitute with “home made “ arena products such as milk jugs for corners and letter marking, long boards, furrows in the dirt, etc.

VIDEO GUIDELINES:

Martingales of any kind, side or running reins are not allowed.

Horse boots or bandages of any kind are not allowed.

Fly masks are not allowed.

Bareback riding is not allowed.

The test must be videotaped from C, where the judge would normally be. There should not be railing at C in the video; the person filming must have a clear view of the arena. The test may be called. The caller is positioned at B or E. Coaching during the test is not allowed. If coaching is heard on the audio, the test will be eliminated. In these circumstances, no refund will be offered. A video of a test/ride from another competition that has already been judged will be eliminated. Any video which is suspected of having been filmed during another competition will not be accepted. In these circumstances, no refund will be offered.

The video must be uninterrupted, with no editing. Any tests found to be edited will be eliminated. In these circumstances, no refund will be offered. The sound for the test must be audible. Videos that are submitted with no sound will be rejected. No music may be incorporated into the video. Natural sounds must be audible (i.e. wildlife, horse sounds, etc)

The judge’s decisions are final. She will not enter into any communication or discussion with the competitor.

Results will be completed within two weeks of the show. Ribbons will be handed out at the next General Meeting or mailed.
